Alex's Science Pictures

(Photos from Kamloop's Big Little Science Center)

This is me watching and guessing which marble will go the fastest.  I was wrong when I said the straight one because it was the bendy one.  It went faster because it got more speed and it was like Newton's first law.

This is me trying to see which things are attracted to the magnet.

This is the vacuum tube.  I liked it because when I put the balls in and you shut the door, the air comes in and the balls go so fast through the tubes.  It almost bursts through the plastic!!

Alex's Health

I watched Sid the Science Kid about being healthy.  I learned that to stay healthy I have to exercise, eating healthy foods and brushing my teeth.  You are exercising well when you are sweating and your heart is beating fast.  Whenever I run around the kitchen a lot of times I feel my heart beating fast.  I like running, biking, climbing trees and swimming.  I am best at swimming.
I made a picture of me exercising.

Owls in the Family

Weeps and Wol were my favourite characters in Owls in the Family and I think they were the main characters because the story was about them..  Weeps and Wol are Great Horned owls and when Billy found them they were just chicks.  After Billy had seen them, he kept them in a cage in his front yard but after a long time one of them found out how to get out.  In the book, when one of the boys brought a rattlesnake without teeth or venom to the parade, I thought it was funny because all the people ran away when they saw it.
I would recommend this book because it was funny.

Alex's Water Cycle

This is me showing you my water cycle.  I made it out of Lego and Duplo.  I think it is amazing that the water goes up and then when it gets heavy enough, it rains!
