Goals

These were my goals from the Spring.

To listen to my mom and dad.  Still Working on This. (June)
To save money.  Save money too quickly (June)

I am still working on these goals.  I am saving money.  I am still working on listening and finishing school.

These are my goals for this year.

1.  To keep making creative crafts- I will work on it every week as part of school.
2.  Learn to type on a computer-  I will practice on typing course.
3.  I want to get better at archery.  I will practice at Kids Club each week.

What is the difference between muscular strength or muscular endurance?
strength means getting stronger and endurance means getting faster and going longer

"I loved doing this experiment because it was fun.  It teaches about erosion.  We took 3 candies.  First we put one into a glass that was empty.  Then we put one in calm water.  The last one we put in water that we shook up.  After an hour the candy was all gone in the one we shook up.  The one in still water had a little bit of candy in it.  The last one was the same.  The candies faded away like rocks do when erosion happens."

Science Center

I saw little bugs in the microscope.  It was fun to use the microscope.

I liked to do the marble run because it was fun to make my own tracks.

Stem Challenges

Challenge #1

I made an egg drop.  The first one I did exploded.  I had to make a second one with more padding.

The second one I did worked but the lid came off and the egg at the top cracked but the other one I put in worked.

Challenge #2

I made two different boats.  One out of paper and one with card stock.  The card stock worked better and held 20 marbles.  The paper boat only held 15.  The card stock was better because it can hold up more items and it's wider than paper.

Soccer Camp

I liked soccer camp because it was fun and I learned about Christ and I learned about soccer.

I got an award for Most Energetic.

Kamloops Wildlife Park

I like this picture because the hawk is starring at me.  The birds of prey show was fun to watch.  There was a barn owl and he was white and they are very silent. 

I liked watching the grizzly bear.

Book #2

I finished the second book in the series.  It was a good, exciting book and I liked it.

First Chapter Book

I just finished reading my first chapter book.  I read a chapter every night.

The author was Frieda Wishinksy.

The main characters were Emily and Matt.

They found a magic sled in Emily's aunt's attic and used it to fly back in time to the time of pirates.

The next book is about dinosaurs.  I started it last night and already they're going to be attacked by a T-Rex.

Gardom Lake

My Butterfly

This is my butterfly Cleopatra.  When I got him as a caterpillar he was so so small.  He grew quickly.  He went into a chrysalis and about a week later he came out.  

He was on me because he was getting used to the temperature. After he flew away he had been exploring in our yard.  I liked doing this project because it was fun and I got to see the life cycle of a butterfly.

Bupee and Uncle Matt

Bupee and Uncle Matt came for a visit. Me and Jordan loved watching Uncle Matt play on his Video games. 

Bupee took us too Bookland to pick out a book to buy. I got a spy book.

Mommy took us to the seniors home where Gigi lives and there were chicks there.  I got to hold one. I asked Bupee if he wanted to hold it but he said no thank you.

Scooter

I got a scooter and it is so fun!  I liked my first time at the skate park because Jordan and I got better from the time we arrived to the time we left.  I like scootering because you can do tricks.  It makes me feel free and fun.  I work hard and I know that because I breathe hard and my side hurts and I get hot.

Internet Safety

Internet Safety is about keeping you safe on the internet.  It keeps you safe because learning internet safety helps you know to block trolls.  Never talk back to trolls because they are mean.
 Never visit somewhere alone who you've only met online.  Don't give out your personal information.  

Static Electricity

Marble Run

My challenge was to make a marble run.  I drew a plan on paper and then we got materials.  We gathered two packs of screws, nails, toilet paper rolls and wood and cardboard.  

We screwed the pieces of cardboard onto the board.  It was hard work.  It didn't work at first because the marble would go too fast and go off the board.  We had to add another pieces of cardboard to make sure that it didn't fall off.  Then it kept missing another piece of cardboard so we add little pieces to keep the marble in.  Then it worked!

This project reminds me of Newton's Law of Motion which says an object that is put in motion will keep on going onto a hard objects stops it from moving any more.

I liked this project because it was fun and it was really challenging.  If I did it again, I would like to try using different materials.

Balloon Powered Lego Car

The challenge was to make a Lego car that could run by a balloon.  It took me two days because I couldn't get it to work.  Mommy got it to work twice but then it wouldn't work again.  I took off a few pieces to see if it made it lighter so it could move but it just ended up making the car break easier.  Then the next day my dad helped me so it worked and my car could run by balloon if I blew up the balloon, making a little thing to attach the balloon onto, then put the balloon down and give the car a little push and it worked!

The balloon was the force that made the car move and with just a little help, it can go faster.

Roller Skating

I liked to go roller skating because it was fun and I got the hang of it after Mommy taught.  Everyone left once the skating rink closed.

Making a Canoe

The first step is to find a good tree, then cut it down with fire or a wedge.  Then, shape the canoe.  Then cut out the inside.  Then paint it.  Then have a ceremony to name the canoe.

Pop can

I liked to do the pop can toss because it was fun and I flipped over a bottle a few times.  My air was a force.

I like to play Bingo because I won once for Gigi and Cecil won 3 times!

I like to go to Energyplex because it was fun.  There were ball shooters, a climbing wall and games and trampolines and a foam pit!

I like to go for bike rides.  I got to ride Mikayla's fast bike.

I liked to make a marshmallow shooter because I could make little marshmallows shoot very, very far.  We're learning about gravity and force.

The Trip

I am packing to go on a trip because I'm going to my Nanee and Bupee's.

I liked to go to the Lego Museum because it was fun to see the Lego.

I like to go to McDonald's because it is fun and I get toys.

I liked to go to the wedding because it was fun and I got Lego!

It was my Auntie Misty and Uncle Randy's wedding.

I like going on the ferry because it is fun and I got candy and a giraffe ring.

I like to go to community class because it is fun and I learn things.  This is my water cycle.

I like to do my poem about swimming because we're going swimming today and it is fun to jump off the diving board.

Japan

I like to work on my poster of Japan because it is fun and it teaches me about Japan.

Vernon Museum

I like to go to the museum because it is fun to learn about the past.  

I liked the scavenger hunt because it was fun and I got to learn about the stuff.

I liked to learn about the printing press and I got to make my own poster.

Art Museum

I like to learn about paintings and I liked that I made this art work for Grandma.

Japanese Food

I liked my Japanese food because it was yummy and I liked the sushi and rice.

Citizenship

Once this girl had been asking for a dog and her parents got her a dog. Her best friend came over a few times and she saw that her friend wasn't feeding the dog too much. So, everyday before school the friend would come over and feed the dog.  To help your neighbourhood you need to help by picking up garbage, not stealing and listening to the law.

Friends

To be a good friend it means to be nice to them and to protect them from bullies just like the story that we read.  I plan to be a good friend and to be nice and to be a friend back.

How Full is your Bucket?

We each have an invisible bucket that every time we do something to hurt people a drop from their bucket will fall out.  If you help people a drop will come into yours and their buckets.  Dogs have invisible buckets and so do cats.  I am going to try and help by making people happy and putting drops in their buckets and mine.

Light

Light is energy.  It can come from the sun and that's called solar energy.  Light radiates.

Today I learned that light bounces off things.

An experiment to mix colours using a spinning motor
